Dr. Severko Hrywnak
Founder & Chairman
Dr. Severko Hrywnak is the Founder and Chairman of Project HUGS. Dr. Hrywnak is also President and Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Ambulatory Surgical Center in Chicago and Elmwood Park Immediate Health Care Center. Currently, Dr. Hrywnak is on the teaching faculty at the Rosalind Franklin University’s Medical School in Chicago and has written numerous medical articles for scientific publications.
Dr. Hrywnak earned a pre-med bachelor of arts degree in biology from Buffalo State University and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine. As a graduate of the Juarez School of Medicine, Dr. Hrywnak is a board certified physician. Also a successful businessman, he has developed multi-million dollar commercial, residential and medical complexes in the Chicago area.
In the 2011 summer edition of Michigan Avenue Magazine, Dr. Hrywnak was included on the annual “Who’s Who” list, detailing 51 of the most powerful and influential names in the Chicago area and, also, across the country.
Joanna Brzostowska
Vice President
Joanna Brzostowska is the Vice President of Project HUGS. Along with her Project HUGS duties, Ms. Brzostowska remains Chief Operating Officer of Advanced Ambulatory Surgical Center in Chicago– an accredited, out-patient surgical center boasting numerous board certified specialists that serve Chicago and surrounding area.
Ms. Brzostowska possesses unique business savvy and expertise in many facets of business. She is president of Premier Real Estate Development Corporation, a real estate managment company in Chicago whose portfolio includes both residential and commercial properties, a consultant to HydroAge Wind Powered Technology Corporation, a company focusing on utilizing alternative energies, and a consultant for @SportsTV Network, an interactive health, fitness and sports television network.
